Jamie spends his days buzzing between restaurants, homes & kitchens, florists and his studio photographing food, 

drinks, portraits, interiors and florals. With a flair for composition and light Jamie creates handsomely appealing images documenting people, places and the food and drink they produce. 

Accomplished at working with stylists, writers and art directors to produce and deliver distinctive images required for restaurant, cookbook, editorial, advertising & PR clients. Including Soho House, You Magazine, Waitrose, Eurostar and Marks & Spencer. Along with many Michelin Star restaurants, private members clubs, pop-ups, gastro pubs to street food stalls in London, Sussex and throughout the United Kingdom. 

Jamie Lau's portraiture work includes restaurateurs, chefs, food writers, TV & radio presenters, actresses, stylists and editors, many of whom have been awarded BAFTAs, OBEs or CBEs in recognition for their work.

Previously a photo editor, Jamie has over 10 years’ experience in the publishing industry, working for magazines, contract publishers and newspapers including The Guardian, Time Out, Seven and John Brown. Originally trained as an artist Jamie graduated in 2011 with an MA from the Slade School of Fine Art specialising in photography and sculpture. In 2014 he was commissioned by Open Eye Gallery to produce a new photographic series on Liverpool’s Chinatown, exhibiting alongside Martin Parr in a five person group show.
Jamie based between Hove, East Sussex and his studio is in Hackney, London.
